Give us a break. If Sony’s PlayStaion Firmware version 2.0 is coming in 2 weeks, then we’re excited to see everything it has to offer. Hell, it’s been praised as the update to end all updates. In -game XMB, in-game messaging and chat among a couple rumor highlights. Well if ThreeSpeech, a pseudo-official Sony blog/podcast out of the UK is on the right track, mid November should see the release of version 2.0. Why “Give us a break”, you ask? ThreeSpeech’s noted feature in the update, the taste they’re giving to readers to get them excited is nothing nearly as tantalizing as making the PSN a free Xbox Live. No, sadly they’re merely mentioning Remote Power on/off with the PSP.
Right. If this is the key feature of 2.0 we might just flip our lids. Sony really needs to step up the bare-bones “service” that the PSN is pretending to be. If a remote power on/off feature is the highlight of 2.0 and we don’t see anything beyond that it’s going to be heartbreaking for PS3 owners. Well, maybe we’ll catch a play-your-PS3-games-with-your-PSP feature too. Ha. Fat chance, but we can dream can’t we?
