In a magical act of fan service by Nintendo, we learned this morning that the little Pikmin dude Captain Olimar will be in Super Smash Bros. Brawl as a playable character!
Not much is known about how Captain Olimar (lets call him Olie shall we?) will fight as no videos have been posted, but on the Smash Bros. website it is revealed that Olie will have to pluck Pikmin from the ground to wage war. Olie will need these little flower creatures to attack, but more importantly to to a Final Smash.
I’m a huge Pikmin fan from way back and have to applaud Nintendo for adding them to the game. I assumed that the Pikmin would be assist trophies, but being able to play as them makes my inner geek squeal with joy.
What do you guys think about this addition? By my count this brings the character totals up to 12 newbies and 12 old schoolers. What else could Nintendo be hiding in this title?
