Some XBLA and PSN titles seem to get tonnes of coverage months before their release, and while Age of Booty has been known about for a while, it’s surprising that it’s coming out in a few weeks. Good news that it looks great then.
You take command of a pirate ship, and your mission is to fight, barter and swagger your way to become the ruler of the seas, which is as good a premise as you’d expect in a pirate based game to be fair. The twist is that you can do this with mates online on both systems, which will mean that you’ll not only be competing with the seas, but your so called friends too.
The game will play like an RTS, albeit one that is designed with the casual gamer in mind. The action is where the fun really is in Age of Booty, which is sure to attract many more wannabe pirates to the game next month.
Age of Booty is set for release on XBLA on October 15th, coming to PSN a day later on the 16th. While you wait, hit the jump for a pirate pun filled press release which has more information on this promising looking game.

Secure your eye-patch and twist on those scurvy hooks, Capcom is ready to set sail to swashbuckle on the seven seas with Age of Booty on Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation Network this Oct. 15 th and Oct. 16 th.
In Age of Booty, players team up with other online players or AI-controlled pirate ships to raid, pillage, sink, and destroy their way to dominance on the high seas. Manning the helm of their own pirate ship, apprentice pirates must raid villages, sink merchants, seize towns, and steal gold to stockpile their pirate factions with spoils of war and booty – all at the same time.
Age of Booty introduces swashbuckling action for the RTS (Real Time Strategy) newbie, ridding gamers of all the complicated, time consuming aspects of the RTS genre and retaining only the fun. Would-be pirate plunderers in Age of Booty won’t have to worry about resource gathering, base building or giving multiple orders to unit groups, unlike a typical RTS game. Age of Booty is built for the casual videogame player with action–packed gameplay, simple controls, and robust multiplayer capabilities.
Age of Booty is rated E for Everyone and raids Xbox LIVE Arcade on Oct. 15 th. The game also sets sail on the PlayStation Network on Oct. 16 th.
