The Alien Crush pinball game was entirely new to me when it was released for the Wii Virtual Console at the beginning of December last year, seeing as I wasn’t a proud owner of the TurboGrafx-16 way back in the day. Nevertheless, I quickly became obsessed with racking up more and more points, eventually surpassing the 25 million mark before calling it quits.
I was happy to read earlier today that Hudson Entertainment is bringing a follow-up version of the game to WiiWare, titled Alien Crush Returns. The sci-fi themed tables will still be played across two screen and are going to support two-player online multiplayer action along with leaderboards. As with Bomberman Blast, the publisher is planning to host routine online tournaments, with one already in the works set for the release date. Unfortunately, Hudson hasn’t been forthcoming with when that date will be as of yet, but hopefully we’ll get one soon!
Alien Crush Returns is making pinball more sci-fi than ever” said Sabine Duvall, Vice President of Product Development at Hudson Entertainment. “This is not your father’s pinball game. This unique sci-fi take on pinball includes enemies, power-ups, bonus stages and hidden surprises we know players will love.
