BioShock to PS3 on October 21

Posted on Wed, Aug 20, 2008 in News, Sony PS3

PlayStation 3 owners might be a year behind on the receiving end of things, but the release of 2K’s superb BioShock was announced today. October 21 will see the launch of the filled-with-extra-stuff version of the story-focused shooter/RPG.

The bonus goodies, exclusive to the PlayStation 3 version of the game include “Survivor difficulty mode, Trophy support and the addition of all-new Add-On Game Content.” The Add-On Game Content in question are Challenge Rooms that aim to test your knowledge of all things BioShock. Presumably, you’ll need to make use of specific powers to advance through Rapture-inspired –and hopefully not Rapture-repeated– areas.

The PlayStation 3 version of BioShock is being developed by 2K Marin, the same studio who is developing the sequel to the hugely successful 2007 Xbox 360/PC shooter. Finally, PS3 owners who missed their opportunity can, ahem, dive in to Rapture and experience the thrilling adventure.

Do yourself a favor and check it out on October 21.
