Cyborg Raiden is “literally falling apart”

In a recent interview, Metal Gear Solid character designer Yoji Shinkawa spilled a couple beans on to the table regarding the current state of MGS2 heroine Raiden. The now reformed character is suited up in a badass suit of ninja-armor, as we all knew, but says Shinkawa:

“He has gone through a lot since he was shown in Metal Gear Solid 2.” … “We never predicted this kind of thing would happen after showing Raiden in MGS2.”

What “kind of thing”, you ask?

Raiden is the cyborg Ninja in Metal Gear Solid 4 to represent the abuse he recieved for being the character he is and the main role in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. Raiden is literally falling apart. All that remains of Raiden’s human self is his head and his spine. The rest of him are cybernetic attachments which give him the abilities of the Cyborg Ninjas we have seen the previous titles.

How this will actually come to fruition is yet to be seen, but we’re beggin’ for a playable segment. Considering how completely, totally ****ed up the hated hero is, perhaps it’s a bit of fan(boy) service. Admit it, you hated him and want to see the pain inflicted, you sadistic jerks.

Better yet, haters-turned-ninja-suit-lovers being excluded from playing as Raiden would be a serious sack kick.

It has us super-pumped to find out what the hell happened, and what’s in store for the self-stabbing vampire hater.

Hurt me more.

I can’t wait to find out what the hell happened either – How on Earth can something like that happen to someone? Upon finding this out, I thought: Raiden is falling apart, so would that mean his head can just fall off at any time? I’d never want to live like that (even if it did make me more fast and powerful) lol. But I’m sure that many MGS2 fans who were unhappy with the introduction of Raiden might just come to like his character more when they see his new Cyborg Ninja form in MGS4.

    He’s falling apart?!

    Wait a second — HE’S FALLING APART?!!!!

    Poor Raiden…

That’s a funny picture, I was wondering about that myself… where the question marks are… XD

Raiden is not falling apart after he rescued sunny from the patriots he wanted to clean himself from his sins he submitted himself to a cybernetic enhancement to help snake to defeat the patriots.thats why he is mor flexable and cant die unless he kills him self. he’s 75% human the only thing in his exoskeleton that is human is his head i think.

FYI, this post is like 4 months old. It’s been cleared up in the game and in the MGS Database on PSN, but yeah, the dude is totally a mess.

you are all kind of wrong, just play the game, download mgs database and do a proper googling on raiden to know the truth!

  6. squall Says:

    look just leave that alone
raiden came up to be one of the best characters in the game cuz he even saved snake 2 times
im not saying that snake is not better than him but he was one of the best characters in the mgs saga so shut the h### up and play the game and if u dont like it just dont play it

his head, spine and HEART are in that suit, raiden was changed in eastern europe and later on in MGS4 at the end he is turned back into a full human.
