E308: Resistance comes to PSP in 2009

Posted on Wed, Jul 16, 2008 in News, Sony PSP

With PlayStation 3 owners eagerly awaiting the sequel to what was considered the best launch title for the console, news of Resistance 2 was obviously going to make up a large part of Sony’s showing at E3. What was unexpected was the announcement of a PSP entry in the shooter series.

Resistance Retribution will not be an FPS like the other Resistance titles, instead, it will be a Third person shooter, a brave but clever move on Insomniac’s part; the limitations of the PSP make this a much better choice of genre.

Following on from the events of the first Resistance, you will play as British Marine James Grayson, who must try and save Europe from the threat that the Chimera cause. The story is said to follow this one man’s journey, and will bridge the gap between the two games, answering questions that R2 may fail to answer.

The game’s graphics are on par with the best looking PSP games, still retaining the style of the PS3 games. Resistance Retribution is sure to be a hit when it is released in Spring 2009.
