Nintendo have been rumoured to be teaming up with Tecmo’s Team Ninja for a while, but the result of this team’s work couldn’t have been predicted by anyone.
Metroid: Other M takes the series away from Prime‘s first person view and incorporating mostly third person gameplay. This gave the trailer shown a much more cinematic feel, helped by the amazing graphics on offer. The game felt distinctly like an anime at times too, which made the first shot that featured Samus that bit more shocking.
This could be a revolutionary step in a new direction for the series, and Metroid: Other M may well be the game hardcore gamers will look to in 2010, the intended release. It made for an exciting and unexpected ending to the conference, just what gamers wanted.
