Q Entertainment is uniting three music games from design legend Tetsuya Mizaguci into one retail package called Q3.

The pack contains E4, Lumines Live and Rez HD, and will be available in stores in spring 2009 — the first time the three games have been together on a shelf in a physical store.

Q says (in the press release),

Mizuguchi-san’s games reflect his love of music and his skill as a music producer, a talent he employs in his games to merge sounds and images creating a real journey for the senses.

Atari is publishing the compilation.

“We’re honoured to be working with Tetsuya Mizuguchi, an incredibly talented and visionary game designer and musician who never fails to amaze with his creations,” said Phil Harrison, President of Infogrames Entertainment, the parent company of Atari.

Mr Mizuguchi is honored to work with the company that made Pong, “the very first game he played when he was 11 years old”.

Rez HD:
Released on Xbox Live Arcade in January 2008.  It’s a trippy, fast-paced shooter set in a cyberworld.  It set the bar for integrating sound and visuals.

Lumines Live:
Released on Xbox Live Arcade in October 2006.  You’ll get the base classic puzzle game and add-on packs that were available for download.

E4 (Every Extend Extra Extreme):

Released on Xbox Live Arcade in October 2007.  Wins the award for alliteration in a title.  It is a music-based game about creating chain reactions and destroying enemies around you; it supports custom soundtracks.
