EA Makes Take-Two 2 Billion Buyout Offer

Posted on Sun, Feb 24, 2008 in News

Take-Two InteractiveThe words Grand Theft Auto are synonymous with video games. Few three words have caused as much controversy, or made as much money.

It hardly comes as a surprise that the world’s largest publisher, Electronic Arts, would make an offer for the franchise’s parent company, Take-Two Interactive. Electronic Arts offered the company the option to Take-two billion dollars, in a proposed deal Take-Two Chairman of Board of Directors, Strauss Zelnick, called;

“a highly opportunistic offer in an attempt to capitalize on the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto IV.”

The 2 billion dollar buyout offer was rejected, but Take-Two claims they are willing to continue negotiations with Electronic Arts.
