The words Grand Theft Auto are synonymous with video games. Few three words have caused as much controversy, or made as much money.
It hardly comes as a surprise that the world’s largest publisher, Electronic Arts, would make an offer for the franchise’s parent company, Take-Two Interactive. Electronic Arts offered the company the option to Take-two billion dollars, in a proposed deal Take-Two Chairman of Board of Directors, Strauss Zelnick, called;
“a highly opportunistic offer in an attempt to capitalize on the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto IV.”
The 2 billion dollar buyout offer was rejected, but Take-Two claims they are willing to continue negotiations with Electronic Arts.
