The popular Wii title Eledees-Elebits in North America-is getting a sequel on the Nintendo DS later this year. Eledees: The Adventures of Kai and Zero will be a direct sequel to the collector-happy original, taking the power concept from this game, but using it to create a fully fledged adventure game.
From the screenshots at the bottom of the article, you can see that the graphics are now 2D sprite based, rather than full 3D, which makes up for the limitations of the DS. The graphical style is nice, looking along the same lines as the Pokemon Dungeon games, nothing too fancy, but a nice and colourful style to suit the mood of the game.
Adding extra gameplay into the Eledees formula, you muct now find ‘Omega’ Eledees, who according to the press release ‘boast a wider range of abilities and act as side-kicks who accompany Kai through the vast stages’ . These companions are capable of freezing water, unlocking closed off areas, and other helpful skills to get you through what seems to a more puzzle orientated game.
The addition of these shows that the developers are trying to make Eledees more of a story driven game, thanks to the ‘magical’ new story involving a magical bus that transports the titular duo to a magical land…magical!
Eledees: The Adventures of Kai and Zero is set for release in the winter, but at this time, only a European release has been announced, with a North American one likely to follow in the near future.
