In a less formal, more serious and profanity filled emotional episode of The HotSpot, GameSpot’s weekly podcast, the staffers and regular hosts spilled their guts on the whole Jeff Gerstmann situation. Admission to loss of sleep and flowing tears fall off the trembling lips of the hosts who try to retain some composure throughout the show. We (by “we” I mean “I”) recently let loose myself regarding the situation, and despite all the chaos coming out of the “Blogosphere, today’s episode of The HotSpot was a great relief of tension on the situation. 30 minutes of discussion clarifies a lot of things for us.
Vincent Caravella, recently appointed host of the show, apologizes for GameSpot after stating, quite bluntly, “…this was handled insanely poorly”. Ricardo Torres, bearer of the same title Gerstmann held, also mentioned that “no one really knew” what was happening Wednesday, and there is an in-depth explanation as to why the video review was pulled… The video review removal happened at an incredibly inconvenient time, apparently.
Tune in to the HotSpot this week – whether or not you’re a C|Net boycotter, this is something everyone who has a remote interest in the situation should hear. If you feel like you can trust these guys more than the corporate-suits, Ryan Davis clearly states “It is not Kane and Lynch“

It’s cool that they are actually addressing the issue and not just sweeping it under the rug. This week’s episode of On the Spot should be interesting…

Indeed. That show might be a little less hilarious without Jeff’s incessant yelling, but I guess we’ll find out.
