A large focus of Sony’s Leipzig press conference, LittleBigPlanet was given a solid European release date of October 29th.
This is set to coincide with the new PS3 Sku the company announced in the conference as ll. The 160GB unit will be near identical to the new 80GB Sku, save for the much larger hard-drive. At a price of 449 Euros, its only 50 Euros more than the lower GB unit, which will be disappointing to anyone who has already pre-ordered an 80GB.
There will most likely be no changes to the design of the unit, as seen by the minimal change in price tag, but Sony have stated that the Sku is a limited edition only, which means that you’ll have to get your pre-orders in pretty soon if you stand a chance of having the largest PS3 hard-drive available.
The 160GB unit will be released in Europe on October 31st, but as of this time there is no announcement of a release in other territories.
