While we’ll be damned: just when we wondered if Grand Theft Auto IV’s downloadable content was lost, Rockstar announced the release date of The Lost and Damned.
The title accurately describes the silent development cycle so typical of Rockstar North.
The first of two DLC packages for Xbox 360 will be released February 17, 2009, slipping by the projected 2008 date. Just like Grand Theft Auto IV was delayed from 2007 into this year and met universal acclaim, we can be confident time will translate into quality.
The add-on will star Johnny Klebitz, a member of the biker gang The Lost, who Niko encounters in Grand Theft Auto IV.
[According to pushingplay.com], Dan Houser, Vice President of Creative Development for Rockstar Games, claims Klebitz is “a very different character than Niko.”
“The story will show you a different side of Liberty City,” he added.
The storyline isn’t the only new thing. New multiplayer modes, weapons, vehicles, and a diverse soundtrack with additional music is all included.
There is no word on a price point yet.
