The sequel to last years co-op zombie success was met with angry hordes over its early announcement, yet despite this it has sold more than two million copies in its first two weeks on both PC and Xbox 360, doubling the sales figures of the original.

“Left 4 Dead 2 is off to a great start with strong support at retail and great reviews from the press,” said Doug Lombardi, VP of marketing at Valve.

“The title has already been played by over one million Xbox Live Gold account holders, and news regarding Left 4 Dead 2 DLC 1 is coming very soon.”

It is expected to be one of the biggest sellers in November and with more DLC on the horizon expect even more zombie slaying action.
