Big-time Sonic fans uncovered a batch of screenshots from a Sega FTP server over the weekend, and it looks like we’re going to be getting a brand new Sonic the Hedgehog title for our PS3s and Xbox 360s in the near future, presumably “Sonic Unleashed”, considering Sega’s recent trademarking of the name. Check out the new trailer above, and the hot new screens of the old-school-ish lookin’ Sonic title at 1up.
Here’s hoping that it sticks to the tried and true Sonic gameplay, which for the most part it looks like it will. 1up notes the legitimacy of the screenshots, since they were located in Sega’s own FTP server, which is a high note. The game looks fast, 2D and fun, but we’ve been fooled before.
