As you are probably aware, the “New Xbox Experience” premiered today. As you probably were not aware, Sony (thereby Columbia Pictures) has flipped a switch that disallows their movies for streaming on Xbox 360. You can see from the sad screenshot of my person Netflix Watch Instantly queue, that movies like Superbad are no longer available for streaming on the console. Streaming is still enabled on other Netflix devices.
It is a disappointing development at first glance, but what seems like a last minute “F you” to 360 owners courtesy of Sony really doesn’t amount to much in the end when you consider the workarounds.
