PS3 Firmware 2.41 Released

Posted on Tue, Jul 8, 2008 in News, Sony PS3

In response to the problems people were suffering after downloading the hotly anticipated 2.40 Firmware update, problems that were as severe as a bricked PS3, Sony have released a new update. It fixes these issues, while delivering the new In-game XMB and Trophy systems in a safer way.

There were no new additions to be noted, save for the odd thing such as a new Platinum Trophy logo, but for many, this will be the first time they have been able to use these new features.

The firmware was pulled not long after it was launched, which made people question whether Sony had rushed the update. Thankfully this will not happen with 2.41, it being the definitive Firmware update so far, answering demand on all fronts, including the dodgy problems.

You can download Firmware 2.41 from your PS3, or from the official Playstation website, which can be found at http://www.us.playstation.com.
