Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords has been available on virtually every console, PC and handheld device, mostly since various dates back in 2007: PS2, Wii, PSP, DS, PC, Mac, Xbox 360, and mobile phones. Apparently that just wasn’t allowing the developers to reach the gaming masses quite how they wanted, as it is now being ported to the iPhone.
This will be D3Publisher’s first foray into the iPhone/iPod Touch market, with Transgaming handling the actual port. For those of you who may not be familiar with the title, it’s a puzzle RPG. You pick your class (knight, warrior, druid or wizard) and then you work your way through the quests of the game, with puzzle elements thrown in. With the puzzles, you have to line up three matching gemstones in order to eliminate them, each color representing a different type of mana for casting spells to defeat your opponent. Wow, I can’t believe I just reduced the game to a couple of sentences, it’s actually quite a bit more complex than that, but you’ll have to find that out on your own.
You can expect Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords for the iPhone to hit the Apple App Store sometime later this fall.
