Gamers’ look at Bungie’s final Halo project for the foreseeable future begins tomorrow. The multi-player beta for Halo: Reach will be available to download to those with a Halo 3: ODST game disc.
The beta will run from May 3 to May 19, the beta program will allow players to try out a variety of new play types and features including jet-packs, large gauge rifles and more awesomeness.
Bungie last week announced a 10-year deal with Activision to publish and distribute games using the studio’s as-yet-unannounced new intellectual property. Since Microsoft owns the Halo intellectual property, Bungie will not be developing in the franchise for other platforms.
Since the visible feud between Activision and Modern Warfare developer Infinity Ward has escalated, it would be outrageous and ironic if Microsoft were to hand Infinity Ward Halo while Bungie developed the next Modern Warfare.
