Rumor Confirmed: Xbox 360 Gets UK Price Cut

Posted on Tue, Sep 16, 2008 in News, Xbox 360

It looks like those leaked Woolworth catalogs were for real. Microsoft confirmed today that the UK would receive a £30 price cut on all three SKUs starting September 19. This comes two weeks after North America saw prices slashed across the board as well. The new pricing scheme is as follows:

Arcade: £130
60GB Pro: £170
120GB Elite: £230

This reduction now means that both the Arcade and Pro models cost less than the Wii in the UK (£179). Microsoft seems to be using the cuts as an aggressive strategy to be the cheapest console come holiday season. No word on similar cuts for the Japanese market, though; it seems that Microsoft knows where its bread is buttered.
