Samba de Amigo Gives Gamers More Fake Instruments

A recent Amazon listing for attachments shows that gamers will finally be able to add some color to their Wii accessories other than white soon.

Amazon has listed stand-alone maracas for the upcoming Samba de Amigo as available September 23 for US$14.99.

For those in the dark, Samba de Amigo was originally developed by Sonic Team and released the arcades in 1999 and for the Dreamcast in 2000, shortly before the console’s demise.

The update for the Wii is being developed by Gearbox Software of Plano, Texas, developers of the popular Brothers in Arms franchise as well as the Half-Life expansions Opposing Force and Blue Shift. They worked the retail releases of Counter-Strike and Condition Zero.

The Wii version will ship with maracas included, so we can only presume extras are for those who attempt to use them with Rock Band, or want their friends to be just as spirited during multiplayer games.

Wii owners can look forward to shaking their shiny red music makers September 23.
