After a closed beta for the last few months, the Shin Megami Tensei MMO that fans of the series have waited for is now open for the public.
Increasing in popularity of late, largely due to the critical success of the latest two entries in the series-Persona 3 and Persona 4-the MMO is just as Japanese centric as the console games. It looks just as good as a PS2 game, but when even the ‘retail’ game will be completely free, you can’t argue with that. Aeria Games, the developers behind the game are looking to make money from in game DLC and extras, meaning that you don’t need to pay a penny to play the game.
The Beta for Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine Online is available on the game’s website, which can be found at http://megaten.aeriagames.com/. Let’s hope that the game lives up to the nice looking price tag, and the franchise in question.
I played the closed beta for 10 min and gave up. It was a bore.
