At their TGS press conference, Sony announced two big games to be playable with their motion controller; Little Big Planet and Resident Evil 5.

Whereas Little Big Planet will be getting a patch for this new style of play, you’ll have to buy a completely new retail release of Resident Evil 5. It’s going to be a Director’s Cut version and will play similarly to the Wii version of Resident Evil 4. It is also confirmed that will be some new dialogue recorded for potential new levels. Curiously during the live demo the assistant playing had the DualShock 3 in one hand and the Motion Controller in the other.

The motion control will be big news for Little Big Planet level creators who will prefer the point and click style to tediously dragging objects around with the left analogue stick. It also could open the door to new types of levels as creators’ imaginations run wild. It could bring the co-op level creation that was seen prior to the game’s release in trailers finally take a prominent role in the online gaming section.

Other games that will get motion controller support will be Eyepet, Flower, High Velocity Bowling and PAIN.

More news will surely follow about these two important pieces of information in the coming months but for now it is expected that both will emerge at some point in 2010. Resident Evil 5: Director’s Cut is down for Spring 2010 for now.
