Tekken 6 Release Date Set

The Tekken series hasn’t been known for it simultaneous releases in all areas. In some cases the PAL versions of Tekken have only been released four months after its NTSC counterpart. Apparently that’s set to change as Tekken 6 will hit stores on the 27th of October in the USA and three days later in the UK on the 30th.

It’s coming at a great time as there has been a surge of fighting games as of late, with lots of titles, of varying quality,  that have been added to the beat-em genre. The EVO Championship Series 2009 has seen one of its most successful years to date, with the 2009 Street Fighter IV competition being won by the legendary Chun-Li Super parrying Daigo, who narrowly beat rival Justin Wong, who was no slouch himself, participating in two other finals including Marvel Vs Capcom 2.

There has been some confusion as to what the console version of Tekken 6 will include with two different versions already out in arcades. It has been confirmed however that the arcade upgrade, Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion, will be the version to be released as ‘Tekken 6′ on the PS3, PSP and for the first time for a Tekken game, the Xbox 360.

This means that two new characters, Alisa Bosconovitch and Lars Alexandersson will join Tekken 6 arcade originals Bob, Leo Kliesen, Miguel Caballero Rojo. Alisa is an android, created by her namesake Dr. Bosconovitch in the image of his own daughter. Lars is a former Tekken Force member who is rumoured to be Heihachi Mishima’s son.

Tekken 6 will be the first true Tekken game for the current generation of consoles and while the PSP may not be able to match the other versions graphically, it will more than likely have all the downloadable content that the PS3 and 360 versions will have.
