There are few games that everyone will likely have heard of or played in their time, but Tetris ranks highly when considering just how many people have enjoyed its deceptively simple design over the years.

25 years ago, Russian scientist Alexey Pajitnov devised the game, but the success of the game has escalated to catastrophic proportions since then. The Game Boy version became one of the biggest selling games of all time, with Nintendo using it as a pack in when their first handheld was launched.

The legacy of Tetris lives on through the multiple games that are released, and re-released, and through the multiple puzzle games the simple block falling game inspired. Everyone still needs some Tetris in their lives.
