THQ Lets Slip Video Evidence of Warhammer 40,000 Third-Person Shooter

Games Workshop has been hard at work pressing its table-top franchises into the digital age, adding another to it’s growing repertoire, this time an action game set in the grim, dark future of the Warhammer: 40,000 universe.

GW must be busy. In addition to the impending release of MMO, Warhammer: Age of Recking, the wargames company supposedly has developer THQ working on a third-person shooter/action game titled, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine.

This puts a lot on THQ’s plate, not only are they working on a sequel to the successful RTS, Dawn of War, but some reports put them in control of a Warhammer 40,000 MMO as well.

Information is very, very scant at this point, but a developer walkthrough THQ showed off at the recent Leipzig Games Convention is pretty clear, though more information from THQ would be nice.

The rather lengthy walkthrough at vgblogger, shows some interesting concepts, although it’s clearly in early stages. The last Warhammer 40,000 action game, Fire Warrior for the Playstation 2 was a rather mediocre affair.

Obviously no release date has been set and though the demonstration was running on an Xbox 360, Games Workshop games have traditionally been PC or Playstation affairs, so gamers can probably expect a port for their platform of their choice.

Hold your breath, The Emperor needs you!
