Touchscreen Mod for the PSP

Posted on Sun, Aug 10, 2008 in News, Sony PSP

There’s a PSP modder out there by the name of jube808 (a professional electronic engineer) who has been working on several features for the PSP that he believes should have been there in the first place: a better designed control pad, increased battery life and above all else, a touchscreen!

He has brought one of his dreams to reality with a working touchscreen, which is usable using either a stylus or your fingers and he has launched a couple of YouTube videos showing the proof of concept of his touchscreen keyboard.  His aim is to create total touchscreen gaming for the PSP homebrew community.

This could definitely turn into an interesting mod if the homebrew community decides to embrace it, and might even prompt Sony to take a look at releasing their next version of the PSP with touchscreen support.
