Home / News / VR Releases for the Week of November 21st, 2016

This week we have three new games and one experience that requires a $250 controller to properly use. Yep, the PSVR market continues to be a wild west. Checkout the new titles below!

PS VR — Digital only

“HoloBall plunges players into an action-sports arena inspired by one of the most iconic games of all time. Compete for glory in a retro-fueled future ruled by rogue AI. Equipped with only a paddle and your own skill, do you have what it takes to defeat the AI and earn your freedom?” — If that doesn’t get your VR juices flowing, well we don’t know what will! I was all in on this title after watching the trailer linked below. TRON meets Miami Vice… yep, this is good.

Gary the Gull
PS VR — Digital only

We first heard about this title at GDC in March, and here it is on the Playstation Network. Gary the Gull is an interactive short film that will respond to your voice and head movements. From all of the early press I’ve seen people enjoyed it… though I’m sure that price will be a huge factor with this title. I’m interested to see what other interactive movies hit the PSN store.

Proton Pulse
PS VR — Digital only

With Proton Pulse you will get a retro styled Breakout clone with all of the TRON style you can handle. Looks like this will be a great palette cleanser arcade title for the PSVR. You an checkout a play through of the Rift version below.

VirZoom Arcade
PS VR — Digital only

OK well maybe this one is a bit of an oddball release, VirZoom Arcade is a collection of games that require a VirZoom compatible exercise controller. You can race, fly a pegasus and more. I’ll be interested to see if there are any demos that you can play without having to buy the $250 add-on… You can see a video of the controller below.

Are you picking up any VR titles this week? Let us know in the comments below!
