We’ve been curious around the HQ here as to how Wii Ware - Nintendo’s digital distribution service equivalent to Xbox Live Arcade – is going to work. I mean, yeah, we get it, but will it succeed with the so called “hardcore casual” grannies? The service is set to offer smaller games for download via the Wii’s online service at decent prices if you’re too lazy to go to Wal-Mart.
Japan is going to find out when Wii Ware launches on March 25th (about a month and a half before North America) with nine (count ‘em -nine) games to download, including the highly anticipated, not-really-Final-Fantasy Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, which clocks in at a pricey 1500 points -about 15 bucks.

- Okiraku Ping-Pong Wii (Arc System Works, 500 points)
- Word Puzzle Mojipittan Wii (Bandai Namco, 1000 points)
- Sakusaku Animal Panic (Konami, 1000 points)
- Star Soldier R (Hudson, 800 points)
- My Life As A King: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles (Square Enix, 1500 points)
- Angel’s Solitaire (G-Mode, 500 points)
- Dr. Mario & Bacillus Extermination (Nintendo, 1000 points)
- Everybody’s Pokemon Ranch (Nintendo, 1000 points)

Can’t say I’m in to the moe solitaire, but town adventuring, pogeyman farming, Dr. Mario and space shootin’ sounds like wicked fun for cheap.
