XBLA Flavoured Incentive for Preordering Fable II

Posted on Mon, Jul 7, 2008 in News, Xbox 360

Those few, and by few I mean thousands of people who are eagerly awaiting the sequel to the critically acclaimed Fable, will most likely be clawing to get their hands on the game. To answer this, Microsoft is giving people who preorder the game a great incentive, a game itself, in order to get people on board with it.

But the game you get free is not just a random XBLA title. Instead you are given access to Fable II: Pub Games, which is just what it sounds like; casino style minigames that are set in the Fable II universe.

But while the game itself sounds fun, with versions of Craps, Slot Machines and Roulette available, what is really interesting is the ability to transfer money from Pub Games to the full version of Fable II when it is finally released.

This will allow players to access the shops in the game from the get go, which will make the early beginnings of your character much more fulfilling. It’s a great idea, and one that is sure to get people even more pumped for the game. Fable II: Pub Games will be on the Xbox Live Marketplace in August at a price of 800 Microsoft points, or free if you preorder the game in stores.

Also announced were the versions of Fable II that would be available, and as seems to happen with every AAA game nowadays, there will be a Limited Edition for die-hard fans.

This will contain a copy of the game, a bonus disc with a new behind-the-scenes making of video, a LIVE trial card, a collectible Hobbe figure and additional in-game content (Which will have to be downloaded through Xbox LIVE-hence the card), all of which will set you back around $79.99. Not that steep when compared to the ‘Legendary’ Halo Limited Edition.

But thankfully, Pub Games will also come with preorders of the standard edition-$59.99-which will allow any Fable fan to enjoy this original perorder bonus. Visit http://www.xbox.com/Fable2 for the latest on this epic game, as we eagerly await the full game’s release.
