Snaking is Replaced with the Ghost Glitch

Posted on Mon, Apr 14, 2008 in Nintendo Wii

These ghosts are always a problem.

After Mario Kart DS, and the whole argument over whether Snaking (a constant powerslide) was considered cheating online, now Mario Kart wii has brought a brand new way for people to get impossible race times. The ghost Glitch, demostrated after clicking the link below, is activated by performing one lap, and then facing the other way while you cross the finish line. This has made the all new Mario Kart channel an intimidating place to be, with times that are not physically possible to pull off with usual means. I have been sent more of these ghosts as challenges than legitamite ones, which will be a problem that will occur with anyone who gets involved with the otherwise excellent online aspect of the game.

Looking at Nintendo’s track record with Mario Kart though, I doubt whether downloading ghosts will be available in the next entry in the series, the same hapenning to Snaking with the transition from DS to Wii. Its a shame really that this has happened, as I have had a ball playing online over the last few days, something that is becoming spoilt by the ‘cheaters’ over the internet.
